What does the clip say to you?

The clip says to me that everyone around the world can become one, as a community and that they are happy that they are like a family because they keep eachother safe.

What questions would you ask?

some questions that i would ask are:
- why do that dance?
- why does everyone come in the middle and join?

Why show the clip at this time of the project?

so it helps us as a class to become one when we are in groups and to work together and learn that if we be individuals in a group working alone then we wont make anything good out of it but if we are a group then we could do something and get something good out of it.

WHERE THE HELL IS MATT?

Matt has travelled around the worl to some poor and some rich countries, he has been dancing around and he has been bringing people together as one community, and could be teaching us that as a group we can be one. he sent this video to his family and they put it on his website, people found the video and had sent it around to everybody around the world, and then was sponsord and had been travelling around the world to countries to do this type of thing as what he thinks could be in very good use to bring people together.

  1. Analyse why red sunsets can sometimes be more impressive when there is more dust or pollution in the air than usual?

The sun looks more impressive when there is dust or pollution when for example when there is a bush fire, the smoke can show the suns colour to red, so that when it sunsets, it creates a very read colour to the earth which looks very good.

  1. Describe what happens inside water droplets to cause a rainbow and explain how you can tell whether a rainbow is a primary or secondary.

When it is raining, it could rain when it is not cloudy and the sun, while it is raining, the sun reflects with the water droplets and that creates colours and then causes a shadow of curved different colours to make a rainbow. The colours in the rainbow are showing both primary and secondary to make wonderful colours but it does not show black and white.

Investigate the two types of sight defect- long-sightedness and short sightedness.

Find the following information:

  1. what causes the defect –

Short sightedness – when you are not able to see close up, this could be caused by being close up to the TV, computer etc.

Long sightedness – when you are not able to see at a long distance and could also have trouble with close up.

  1. the symptoms displayed

Long sightedness – objects look very fuzzy and blurry, you get headaches and tired eyes, and you start to squint.

Short sightedness – object appear blurry and unfocused.

  1. Propose what sort of lens may be used to correct each vision.

For short sightedness, glasses with lenses that are not as thick, thin just for close up. And for long sightedness, they will need thick lenses so they are able to see in a further distance and possibly for a close up.

Fibre optic technology offers many advantages when used in medical applications.

a.     describe how optical fibre may be used in medical applications:

To check the digestive system al around the inside of the body, instead of cutting up the body and making any risk of danger and not wasting time

b.     identify the traditional medical techniques that optical fibres might replace:

Surgery, operation, which means that they open up the body by cutting and making scars just to see inside the body and you don’t find where the area is so u cut up an area which is perfectly fine.

c . Evaluate the benefits of fibre optic technology to medicine

No permanent scars, or feeling pain after you have surgery, and it saves time

Today in CST/ist we had seen 3 images. for the 3 images that I have seen, I have learnt that whatever you say about an image could not be true e.g when I saw the first image I thought bad things about the image, then when i saw the 2nd image, I thought good things but then it turned out that the first image was good and the 2nd image was bad because the boys was a foster child and had been abused, and the first image the Africans are happy in the way they are living.

I learnt that when you are thinking about an image and you are asked to describe that image and write down what comes to your head, I learnt that you should always think in really deep, and not always think the things you could see, because even thought it looks like that it would not be the correct answer that you thought it could of been.

  • What influences your values about issues relating to your life? That the news I hear, I want to be true, that if I was ever put on the news I want it to be true and if I found out they had put things that are very much false then I would go mad and sue the company that had been telling lies about me.
  • Do you ever compare images/values presented by the media to those of the bible? If so why? If not why not? yes I do compare the images and values presented by the media to those of the bible because, I know that the people in the church have a good comment to say about these images and values and can describe the differences from us and from what is showing in that image.
  • Has this project challenged you to examine your values? Why / Why not? Yes it has, this project has been teaching me how to describe an image, and in thinking deep, not just thinking, but what you deeply think about that image, because if you see a picture of a boy with a game, you could think it is a good thing, but really it is a boy that has been abused by his parents and is a foster child.

  • How do you feel the media portrays social justice issues?  The social justice issue of what my group is doing is that the false things that are being said on the articles, and that it can affect a lot of people in the community and put a bad name to the subject (person) that the media is talking about.

  • Has it been difficult to find articles on social justice issues why/why not? Yes it has been because of the ways that the articles have been written and you don’t know whether that article is true or not, but in that way you would find another article on that and see which article is true or not.

  • Do you think that the media operates from a moral framework? Give evidence by using your research. I think that the media does not work on a moral framework because they would write anything they can to just sell their article to the people and make money.

1. Open and read the “How to write a critique” document in the resources menu.

Describe what is a critique.

A  critique is when you are talking about the main areas in an article and it is built up in 4 different areas, you describe what you are talking about and you talk about the amin parts of that article or video and see whether that article or video is telling the truth or not.
2. Outline the FOUR stages in a critique.

The four main parts in a critique are as follows in order:

An introduction
A summary – summarising the article and on what it is about
An analysis – your own anaylysis about the article.
An evaluation – evaluate what you think about the article and see where it is a positive, negative or both.

3. Can a critique be positive? Discuss.

A critique ca be either positive, negative or both, because each article could have its positive side of the story.

4. Critique the accuracy of the following articles:

the beijing olympics: Are they a trap?

the information about this video is very much false because number one, the olympics hasn’t been around for a thousand years, and secondly, the chinese would never do that because that would not be in the spirit of the olympics, and what they are saying about the chinese is not fair because they are like teasing the chinese, because they are saying that they are a poor country and they want to get back at every country that are going to be in the olympics. I say that this story they have done is just the biggest load of crap i have ever heard because we all know that the chinese would never do something as stupid as that.

2 year old donkey called up to pro donkey basketball league.

this is another stupid video that i have seen, everyone knows that a donkey could never ever play basketball, because they don’t have minds of a genius, and showing that video, the donkey is not really playing basket ball, they just have a person on the donkey who is playing basketball, but directing the donkey in which way to walk so he could shoot the ball in the hoop, but we all know that there will never be a sport that has to do with donkeys pleying basketball.
